CORY MONTERO
Illustrator. Designer. Professor.
I live for creating in the sweet spot between illustration, design, and great typography. I’m drawn to the weird, overlooked things people tend to ignore because I think new ideas are introduced by looking the opposite way. That tension drives all of my work.
At the end of the day, I believe bureaucracy is the death of spontaneous curiosity and creativity. I like to keep things short and sweet in meetings, but think long and hard about creatively solving the problem. Whether I’m in the classroom, the studio, or working with a client, I’m always looking for ways to keep the work sharp, honest, and full of purpose.
The things that make me right for this job... maybe they're the same things that make me wrong for everything else.
Let’s Set SOMETHING On Fire
Every once in awhile Fate reaches out and extends its hand. This is the part where you either flinch or set fire to safe ideas.
